University of California, San Diego
Nicole Stadnick, Ph.D., M.P.H. I am an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in the Department of Psychiatry, faculty in the San Diego State University/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology and a Research Investigator at the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center. My research focuses on community-partnered implementation of evidence-based practices and tailored service delivery models to promote access to and engagement with mental health care for children and families from diverse socioeconomic and racial/ethnic backgrounds. I am currently leading a NIMH Career Development Award (K23MH110602) that is a mixed-methods study aiming to refine and implement an integrated mental health care model in pediatric primary care for children with autism spectrum disorder. I am also a Co-Investigator along with IRI fellow, Dr. Stephen Schueller, on a California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA)-funded formative evaluation of the Innovation Technology Suite Project (INN Tech Suite) led by collaborators at UC Irvine. The INN Tech Suite is a multi-county collaborative to improve access to and delivery of mental health services using mental health technologies.
In addition to the valuable formal training during the IRI summer institute and ongoing mentoring from IRI faculty, I have greatly benefitted from the opportunities to expand my network of peer and senior faculty collaborators. For example, I am collaborating with several current IRI fellows on manuscripts, presentations and grants related to implementation of service delivery, digital mental health and psychosocial interventions in schools, primary care and community mental health service settings.
At UCSD, I am co-leading several initiatives focused on promoting D&I research and scholarship through training and collaboration. For example, I am the Co-Chair, along with IRI faculty Dr. Greg Aarons, of the Altman Clinical & Translation Research Institute Community Engagement Dissemination and Implementation Pilot Grants. In this role, I provide pre- and post- grant application consultation and scientific review of pilot proposals. I am also co-leading a Dissemination and Implementation Journal Club and Project Review Series that meets monthly to provide scientific feedback on implementation research proposals and projects and discuss a recent or seminal implementation research article.
