Sarah M. Wilson, PhD, is a health services researcher at the VA Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care, and a clinical psychologist at the Durham VA Health Care System. She is also a Consulting Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on implementing mental health and substance use disorder treatment for at-risk populations, including the use of mobile health and telehealth to address barriers to care. Her clinical work focuses on education and provision of LGBTQ-affirming treatment for veterans. Dr. Wilson recently received a VA HSR&D Career Development Award, “A Personalized mHealth Approach to Smoking Cessation for Veterans Living with HIV” (2018-2023). This grant will support Dr. Wilson’s research focusing on adaptation of efficacious smoking cessation practices to an HIV clinical context, and it will also support her training in implementation science.
